Meet the Editor
Lauren LaRocca grew up in Pittsburgh and Hagerstown and studied writing at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC. She came to Baltimore magazine as its arts and culture editor after 12 years covering the arts at The Frederick News-Post. She’s also an astrologer, herbalist, and musician and loves making zines and abstract collages and cards.
Painting the world he knows, Gibbs has earned an MFA, acquired representation through the Mariane Ibrahim Gallery, and solidified a reputation for his soulful portraiture that captures Black American life.
