Camp Jemicy, a co-ed day camp for students ages 6 – 14, is run by Jemicy School, a leader in the education of children with dyslexia or other related language-based learning differences.
The camp strives to (1) reinforce skills and minimize summer learning loss by providing daily structured, sequential, multisensory skills instruction and tutoring in the key areas of reading, language skills, math, writing, science, and art tailored to each child’s needs; (2) build self-esteem and promote individual growth; and (3) offer an enjoyable, exciting, social and recreational/activity-based camp experience. Such activities include: art, swimming, outdoor adventure, woodshop, arts & crafts, field trips, games, hiking, sports, and drama. Jemicy teachers, trained in various multisensory reading programs approved by The International Dyslexia Association, comprise the majority of Camp Jemicy’s skilled staff. In addition, Jemicy selects mature, imaginative individuals to work with the campers during recreational activities. 2022 Camp Session: June 27-July 29 |
