Founded by Diana Gavrila, who opened Diana’s European Skin Care in Baltimore in 1992, the Spa now employs a talented staff, including Gavrila’s daughter, Natalie Helms, Jodie Snodgrass, and Carmella Ellis. Everyone at the spa shares Gavrila’s love for skincare.
Gavrila is the daughter of a renowned cardiologist who passed on the importance of integrity, gratefulness, and taking care of others. Her commitment to the free and open expression of health and beauty became the groundwork for her career. Originally trained in Bucharest, Romania, Gavrila studied the aging process and its effect on skin at the Ana Aslan Institute.
As an aesthetic spa, Gavrila’s specialized staff provides a unique experience with a variety of customized treatments addressing each client’s personal skincare needs. Gavrila trains her staff of estheticians with a comprehensive apprenticeship to teach her techniques for different procedures, such as pore extraction and lymphatic drainage.
The Spa provides a boutique-like experience, ensuring the staff gets to know each of its clients personally, as well as their skin care needs.
“We want our patients to feel confident in our team, confident in the treatments they receive, and confident in their own skin,” says Gavrila. “To us, success means every patient walking out of our office feeling better than when they came in.”
Understanding that every patient has unique needs and skin requirements, the estheticians at the Spa take time to listen to their patients, as understanding each person’s skin allows for the delivery of results customized to that person. The Spa has its own line of skin care products as well. Their sister business, ProMD Health, is housed in the same suite as the Spa, conveniently offering patients injectable or laser treatments the same day as their spa retreat.
