Baltimore GameChangers Event

Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Bar Vasquez

On January 28, more than 350 guests joined us in celebrating our new ancillary publication, Baltimore Gamechangers, and its featured visionaries at Bar Vasquez. The evening was full of positivity and inspiration, encouraging bigger and more effective change in Charm City. Music was presented by Kelly and Associates, which featured The Voice contestant and local musician, Funsho.

To kick-off the TED-style talks, Calvin Butler, Exelon Senior Executive Vice President and Exelon Utilities CEO, shared his aspirations for the city and his dedication to igniting change in the community. Following Butler’s remarks, April Jones, a Girls’ Empowerment Mission alumnus, spoke of her experiences with GEM and how the organization changed her life and the lives of many others for the better. To conclude the evening, Donté L. Hickman, Sr., Bishop of the Southern Baptist Church, introduced his “hope in the hood” initiatives and his work to restore distressed communities. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed light bites, wine, and beer, while mingling and sharing their hopes for a better future for Baltimore. Desserts consisted of cupcakes, cookies, and a custom cake, courtesy of Hartman Executive Advisors.

Baltimore GameChangers’ mission is to shine a light on the people and organizations that are creating positive change in Baltimore. In doing so, we intend to change the perception of Baltimore and inspire others to act in ways that benefit our community.

Thank you to all of our sponsors and participants.
