Brandon West, DDS MS
Clifford Zdanowicz, DDS
Karl Zeren, DDS
Timonium, MD 21093
Drs. West, Zdanowicz, and Zeren are all board-certified in periodontology and dental implant surgery. Drs. West and Zeren trained at University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore for their doctorate and postgraduate training in periodontics. Dr. Zdanowicz trained at Columbia University in New York City for his doctorate and Walter Reed Naval Postgraduate Dental School for postgraduate training in periodontics. All three doctors served in the United States Navy and are members of the American Academy of Periodontology. They continue to expand their knowledge following graduation with advanced education courses.
Dr. Zeren has practiced for over 45 years and has been consistently selected by his peers as one of Baltimore magazine’s “Top Dentists.” After so many rewarding years, he is pleased to have transitioned his practice to Dr. West and plans to retire in June 2025. Dr. West started training with Dr. Zeren at University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2016 and has worked closely with him for the past two years. Dr. Zeren states, “It has truly been an honor and privilege to care for your smiles and support your health over the years. Both Drs. West and Zdanowicz are dedicated professionals who share the commitment to deliver the high-quality care that you deserve. I have every confidence in their ability to meet your periodontal needs with compassion and excellence.”
The practice is excited to announce its relocation to Suite 801 within its current building by July 2025. The office will expand to eight operatories within a 3,500-square-foot space to support a state-of-the-art group periodontal practice. The office will offer all levels of sedation in conjunction with advanced surgical care.
This group practice is recognized for its advanced skills in dental implant placement, alveolar ridge reconstruction, and periodontal plastic surgery. They use threedimensional cone beam computer tomography (CBCT) to plan surgeries to ensure safe surgical design and identify healthy bone. For patients with severe bone loss, they design custom bone grafts that are processed specifically for each patient and dramatically improve bone regeneration. They also utilize well-studied biological agents that significantly improve healing and predictability for the most difficult cases.
The practice has made digital dentistry an integral part of its surgical practice to provide a predictable, comfortable experience for patients. With the use of intraoral scanners to obtain digital impressions and CBCT technology, the practice can perform guided implant surgery to shorten necessary surgical time and, as a result, patients have an easier recovery. Furthermore, guided surgery promotes precise outcomes for patients. For this reason, all three doctors are especially appreciated for their ability to help patients with cosmetic concerns and placement of dental implants to replace missing teeth visible in their smile.
All three doctors are certified to use lasers for minimally invasive periodontal procedures. The practice utilizes the LANAP protocol by Millenium Dental Technologies, Inc., which is an FDA-approved laser treatment for bone regeneration around teeth and dental implants. They also recommend the REPAIR Perio protocol by Biolase, Inc., which can remove severe infections around failing dental implants.
West Periodontics and Dental Implants is regarded as an exceptional periodontal practice whose entire team is focused on patient-centered care. Their highly trained, caring staff help provide a relaxed environment for patients. Their primary goal is to improve the function, comfort, and aesthetics of their patients’ smiles utilizing modern periodontal therapy. The practice values modern equipment to optimize patient care. More importantly, comprehensive treatment planning is a hallmark of this professional practice, with thorough diagnosis and examination. West Periodontics and Dental Implants is proud to employ the most advanced procedures to assist in the management of complicated dental problems.
