We are seeking a Digital and Event Sales Specialist to join the advertising sales team. Responsibilities for this position include actively prospecting for new business, consulting on digital and event advertising opportunities, proposals, closing sales, and managing accounts on an ongoing basis. 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Prospecting through networking, phone calls, email, drop-ins and social media. 
  • Understanding the marketing objectives of clients through a consultative sales approach. 
  • Creating and presenting clients with customized digital and event marketing plans. 
  • Closing new business and meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals. 
  • Managing relationships throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial contact through execution of client campaigns. 
  • Professional account management to ensure client retention.  
  • Staying on top of digital and event advertising trends. 

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Previous digital, events marketing and sales experience preferred.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of social media, online display advertising, email marketing, branded content, search marketing, and website/landing page best practices. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Loyal, honest, high-energy, driven, strong work ethic, good sense of humor.

Editorial-Digital Intern: Baltimore offers a robust internship program combining experience on both its print and digital platforms. Interns gain real-world experience working with the magazine’s editorial team on the production of our monthly print publication and the magazine’s daily website.

The internship is remote with some in-person meetings. All applicants must be enrolled at a college or university and be eligible for academic credit. This is an unpaid internship.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Research, fact-checking, writing event listings, administrative responsibilities, and working with editors on independent projects.
  • Pitching well-researched online-exclusive story ideas to the digital editor.
  • Reporting, writing, and posting 2-3 web stories per week.
  • Overseeing the upkeep of online and print directories. Fact-checking and updating archived content.

Social Media Marketing Intern: Baltimore magazine is looking for a creative social media marketing intern for the fall 2023 semester. Until further notice, the internship is remote. All applicants must be enrolled at a college or university and be eligible for academic credit. This is an unpaid internship.

The Social Media Intern will work alongside team members to do the following:

  • Help develop and execute daily social media strategy and campaigns.
  • Collaborate and abide by main calendar.
  • Content creation (marketing, editorial, and social).
  • Remain consistent and on-brand by writing in magazine’s voice.
  • Monitor and engage audience across all social channels.
  • Research and curate content and images for use on our social channels.
  • Monitor social analytics to identify trends and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct research and analysis of competitive or similar social channels/strategies.
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers (promotions, contests, etc.).
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness.

Baltimore magazine’s dynamic sales team is looking for a motivated intern to help research, qualify, and generate digital and print leads for our sales team.

The intern will also have access to other departments, as well as opportunities to attend events and assist with sales collateral. This intern will gain real sales experience from prospecting, appointment setting, assisting with proposals, and attending presentations.

Until further notice the internship is remote, and positions are available for both summer and fall terms. Start/end dates are flexible. All applicants must be enrolled at a college or university and be eligible for academic credit. This position can qualify for school credit per approval from the respective institution. This is an unpaid internship with the potential for commission on any business you close.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Researching and generating sales leads
  • Participating in sales meetings
  • Assisting the department with individual projects as necessary
