Advertising Operations Associate

Baltimore magazine is the longest-standing city magazine in the country, evolving to become a multi-channel media powerhouse in the Baltimore region. We are currently seeking an Advertising Operations Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize best practices and processes for the trafficking of all print and digital client ad creation and placements
  • Maintain a system for tracking and submitting all Insertion Orders and contracts, prior to deadline.
  • Oversee creation of advertising profiles and work-up ads in conjunction with Advertising designers
  • Liaison with all clients to execute details of print and digital campaigns
  • Provide CRM and administrative support for the sales team
  • Track and report the performance of digital advertising campaigns including detailed campaign reports
  • Assist as needed with proofing of all ad pages for accuracy
  • Work with the production team on layout of magazine
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented and dependable when working on a team
  • Experience using Google Ads Manager, Google Analytics, and WordPress
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • B.A./B.S. required

Editorial Intern: Baltimore magazine is looking for a motivated editorial intern for the spring 2021 semester. This intern will gain real-world experience working with the magazine’s editorial team and the production of our monthly print publication. Until further notice, the internship is remote. All applicants must be enrolled at a college or university and be eligible for academic credit. This is an unpaid internship.

Required Skills:
Strong writing/journalistic abilities
Research skills
-Strong communication skills
-Reliable, trustworthy, and deadline-driven

Preferred Skills:
-Knowledge of AP style
-Knowledge of the Baltimore region
-Fact-checking experience (not a must, but preferred)

Responsibilities Include:

-Collaborating with editor to help produce the magazine’s Front of Book each month. Tasks could include event listings, research, fact-checking, Metro assignments, blogs, and administrative responsibilities.

Digital Intern: 
Baltimore magazine’s digital department is looking for motivated interns for the spring/summer 2021 semesters. This intern will gain real-world experience contributing content to the magazine’s daily website. Until further notice, the internship is remote. All applicants must be enrolled at a college or university and be eligible for academic credit. This is an unpaid internship.

Required Skills:
Strong writing/journalistic abilities
Research skills
-Strong communication skills
-Reliable, trustworthy, and deadline-driven

Preferred Skills:
-Knowledge of AP style
-Knowledge of WordPress (or a similar CMS)
-Knowledge of SEO/social media sharing optimizations
-Ability to capture original photography/videography
-Familiarity with the Baltimore region

Responsibilities Include:

-Pitching well-researched online-exclusive story ideas to the digital editor.
-Reporting, writing, and posting 2-3 web stories per week.
-Overseeing the upkeep of online directories.
-Fact-checking and updating archived content.
