Marketing Coordinator

Full-Time, Marketing Department

We are seeking a data-driven Marketing Coordinator to support our marketing, editorial, and sales efforts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work alongside Audience Development Manager to develop and execute data-driven marketing campaigns to grow and retain audiences across brand touchpoints including print, digital, newsletter, social, and events
  • Assist in daily social media maintenance, including management of content calendar, posting schedules, reader engagement, and customer service
  • Develop and deploy daily newsletters, ensuring content is relevant and on-brand and all advertising requirements are fulfilled
  • Develop and deploy sponsored emails
  • Analyze, report, and optimize KPI’s across email, site, and social to extend reach and impact of brand
  • Assist with developing and writing copy for event marketing materials, signage, and landing pages
  • Work with Audience Development Manager and Design to strategize and produce monthly print “house” ads for brand products and partnerships
  • Coordinate the development of partnerships with external media companies and non-profits to extend brand reach and drive engagement
  • Facilitate development of annual media kit and any related sales materials
  • Assist with marketing department special projects, events, research, and other administrative duties as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-3 years previous marketing and digital experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of social media, online display advertising, email marketing, and website/landing page best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Loyal, honest, high-energy, driven, strong work ethic, good sense of humor.
  • High competency in MS office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Digital Ad Operations Specialist

Full-Time, Digital Department

We are seeking a Digital Ad Operations Specialist to support our digital advertising efforts across brand products and audience touchpoints including website verticals, landing pages, online directories, partner content, reader polls, and more.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work alongside advertising, marketing, and editorial teams to coordinate and fulfill digital advertising requirements
  • Use Google Analytics to develop internal KPI reports and provide insights into ways we can elevate our digital presence
  • Manage and deploy ad assets in Google Ads Manager for online display and channel sponsorships
  • Upload and publish all branded and sponsored content on the Baltimore magazine website
  • Assist in developing landing pages for special advertising sections, print content, marketing campaigns, and more
  • Maintain enhanced directory listings on the Baltimoremagazine website
  • Track advertising performance and develop digital campaign reports for sales team and clients
  • Serve as back-up for the development and deployment of sponsored emails and newsletters utilizing Hubspot
  • Serve as a go-to resource for digital media, monitoring best practices by keeping on top of industry trends in online advertising
  • Assist marketing team in the execution and reporting on contests, polls, and giveaways on the website

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of digital and multi-platform experience
  • Experience working on the WordPress CMS platform
  • Experience with project management software (Basecamp preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Google Analytics, Google Ad Manager, and Webmaster Tools
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

We are seeking a Digital Sales Specialist to join the advertising sales team. Responsibilities for this position include actively prospecting for new business, consulting on digital advertising opportunities, closing sales, and managing accounts on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Prospecting through networking, phone calls, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Understanding the marketing objectives of clients through a consultative sales approach.
  • Creating and presenting clients with customized digital marketing plans.
  • Closing new business and meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals.
  • Managing relationships throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial contact through execution of client campaigns.
  • Professional account management to ensure client retention.
  • Staying on top of digital advertising trends.

This intern will gain real-world experience working with the magazine’s editorial team and the production of our monthly print publication. Until further notice, the internship is remote. Social Media Marketing Intern: Baltimore magazine is looking for a creative social media marketing intern for the fall 2021 semester. Until further notice, the internship is remote. All applicants must be enrolled at a college or university and be eligible for academic credit. This is an unpaid internship.

The Social Media Intern will work alongside team members to do the following:

  • Help develop and execute daily social media strategy and campaigns.
  • Collaborate and abide by main calendar.
  • Content creation (marketing, editorial, and social).
  • Remain consistent and on-brand by writing in magazine’s voice.
  • Monitor and engage audience across all social channels.
  • Research and curate content and images for use on our social channels.
  • Monitor social analytics to identify trends and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct research and analysis of competitive or similar social channels/strategies.
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers (promotions, contests, etc.).
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness.
  • Live event coverage (when applicable).
  • Assist with other special projects, events, research, and administrative duties as needed.
