WEST PERIODONTICS AND DENTAL IMPLANTS

Drs. West, Zdanowicz, and Zeren are all board-certified in periodontology and dental implant surgery. Drs. West and Zeren trained at University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore for their doctorate and postgraduate training in periodontics. Dr. Zdanowicz trained at Columbia University in New York City for his doctorate and Walter Reed Naval Postgraduate Dental School for postgraduate training in periodontics. All three doctors served in the United States Navy and are active members of the American Academy of Periodontology. They continue to expand their knowledge with advanced education courses.

Dr. West started training with Dr. Zeren at University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2016 and has worked closely with him for the past three years before Dr. Zeren retired in June 2025. Dr. Zeren remains an integral part of the practice as an emeritus partner. Dr. Zdanowicz joined the practice in 2025 and shares their commitment to deliver high-quality care for patients.

The practice relocated to Suite 801 within the same building in July 2025. The office has eight operatories within a 4,000-square-foot space to support a state-of-the-art group periodontal practice. The office offers all levels of sedation in conjunction with advanced surgical care. This state-of-the-art facility was designed to support the most comfortable dental experience possible.

The team has incorporated digital dentistry into every procedure possible to provide a predictable, comfortable experience for patients. With the use of intraoral scanners to obtain digital impressions and 3D X-ray technology (cone beam computed tomography, or CBCT), the practice can perform guided implant surgery to shorten necessary surgical time. As a result, patients have an easier recovery and achieve precise outcomes.

Drs. West and Zdanowicz are recognized for their advanced skills in dental implant placement, alveolar ridge reconstruction, and periodontal plastic surgery. They use well-studied biological agents that significantly improve healing and predictability for the most difficult cases. For this reason, patients appreciate their ability to help with cosmetic concerns and placement of dental implants to replace missing teeth visible in their smile.

Drs. West and Zdanowicz are trained to help patients rehabilitate their entire smile with implants or save their natural teeth. They are also certified in lasers to save infected teeth and failing dental implants.
