LOVE IN THE TRENCHES
LOVE IN THE TRENCHES (LITT) is a lifeline for parents and siblings navigating a loved one’s substance use disorder (SUD), standing beside them through the hope of recovery, the heartbreak of loss, and everything in between. LITT focuses on a simple belief: Families deserve compassionate support without isolation, stigma, or judgment.
LITT was founded in 2019 by two mothers who both experienced living with a child with SUD. One mother’s son went into recovery; one mother lost her son. One thing remained the same: Their sons were loved throughout their journey.
The need is urgent. As Maryland and the nation continue to confront the devastating consequences of an unpredictable drug supply and overdose crisis, LITT is on the front lines. A trusted community partner and certified Overdose Response Program through the Maryland Department of Health since 2020, LITT’s Undo The OD program distributes free Narcan and conducts training programs across the region.
• 500+ parent and sibling group members
• Families helped across 38 states and 3 countries
• 15,000+ Narcan kits distributed by LITT
