Best of Baltimore Party 2016
August 18, 2016 at The Hippodrome Theater
A cocktail hour for the ages
Revelers gathered at The Hippodrome Theater on Thursday, August 18 for Baltimore magazine’s annual Best of Baltimore Party presented by Horseshoe Casino Baltimore. The magazine continued its partnership with The Family Tree as the charity beneficiary of the party, helping raise awareness for the education and promotion of positive and healthy familial relationships in the community.
Upon entering The Hippodrome, more than 1,600 guests in their 1960s-themed garb were immediately transported into the glitz and glam (and who could forget some choice shag pillows) of the era thanks to the impeccable design from Revolution Event Design and Production. Moving through the party space, guests enjoyed tastings from 30 celebrated local restaurants and clinked glasses at many of the craft cocktail bars and decorated beer lounges including an authentic Soda Pop Shop from Henry’s Hard Soda and a Pan Am “destination” tequila bar from Dobel. The dance floor was lit up with the soulful tunes of Bosley and party beats from DJ Kopec where dancers took breaks to line up at the Studio 921 photo booth for photos with friends. Partiers cooled off in Gardiner Wolf Furniture’s luxury lounge where they reclined back and surveyed the scene from a bird’s-eye view. Other guests took a turn in the makeup chair and learned the latest beauty tips with CoverGirl. Those feeling extra lucky stepped right up to the big Horseshoe Casino wheel to win special giveaway prizes. VIP guests delighted in a comprehensive menu from Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and swayed to bright jazz from musician Paul Soroka. Take a look at for more memorable moments:
