Kidstock

Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Irvine Nature Center

Baltimore and Irvine Nature Center teamed up May 11 to throw Kidstock, a morning celebration for kids that brought our first-ever “Cool Kids” issue to life. Youngsters participated in an array of activities hosted by the Irvine Nature Center team, including magic wand creation, tree cookie necklace making, paper flower design, and ribbon bracelet weaving. Animal ambassadors made an appearance and kids interacted with and learned about Maryland’s local species of birds, snakes, and reptiles. Families also had the opportunity to take a hike through the woods of Irvine to enjoy the spring bloom.

Wee Chic sponsored a PixiBooth and kids of all ages (yes, that means parents, too) struck a pose and experienced their very own photoshoots. THB’s Caricature Corner gave guests the opportunity to take home cartoon versions of themselves. Between all of the crafts and photo fun, families danced the morning away with great covers and original songs by local artist Caleb Stine.

A party is not complete without drinks and snacks, so THB brought a bagel bar where kids enjoyed making a colorful breakfast using sprinkles, cereal, and other sweet decorations. The Gilman School gave parents some fuel with caffeine at the Vintage Views coffee bar. GBMC gifted custom water bottles and ice packs, while Maryland Orthopedics gave guests three different flavors of popcorn. The Charmery created a custom ice cream flavor just for this event that attendees enjoyed. The vanilla, Otterbein cookie, chocolate chunk was a masterpiece.

This event benefited Sharebaby, a local organization that provides children’s good to families in need. Attendees donated diapers, wipes, diaper cream, and more to support this wonderful cause.

Thank you Jenny Lynn Photography for capturing the fun spirit of this event!
