The threat of heavy rain and wind—the remnants of Tropical Storm Ophelia—didn’t seem to impact attendance of the 2023 Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Gala. Some 850 fancily frocked folks turned out at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, with hardly a pair of galoshes in sight. The crowd filled several enclosed tents set up on the premises, where they browsed a number of food stations and bars before filing into the hall itself to enjoy a BSO concert conducted by the orchestra’s new music director, Jonathon Heyward. An after-party finished off the evening’s festivities.
