TANNER CERO

While working as the daily morning show host on Parkville TV (PTV) at his school, Tanner found an outlet for his passion: meteorology. Tanner developed the school’s inaugural forecasting program and is now known as “Weather Man Tanner.” He has expanded to his own website, TMC Weather, which has over 10,000 followers, and began a grass-mowing business in his neighborhood to raise the funds needed to enhance his weather studio and the quality of his broadcasts. Ultimately, Tanner wants to join the Air Force or Maryland Air National Guard and go to college to pursue his passion in weather broadcasting. But this eighth grader has much to occupy his time before college, particularly as he recently became an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts. His capstone project was to build an ADA-compliant ramp at his local community hall. Tanner also supports his community by donating his time and talent with the Scouts, Back River Restoration Group, and the Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Department.

“Tanner is a model student, actively involved in extracurriculars, and has a very proactive presence.” —Zach Orton, teacher
