Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake
Baltimore, MD 21227
Since 1982, Habitat Chesapeake has assisted over 800 residents to become homeowners in fulfillment of our mission: Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
Over 60 new and reconstructed homes are currently planned for 10 communities within Baltimore City as well as Anne Arundel, Howard, and Baltimore counties. Corporate partners, foundations, and generous donors help cover the affordability ‘gaps,’ allowing homeowners to purchase homes at a price set by their income level. Professional contractors combine with faithful volunteers to build quality, energy star-rated homes.
Habitat Chesapeake offers affordable homeownership that provides generational transformation through extensive homeowner education coupled with zero interest equivalent mortgages. Applications to become homeowners are currently sought for communities of Orchard Ridge, Pen Lucy, Sandtown, Robert Coleman, 4 x 4, Middle East Baltimore, Collington Square, Severn, and Columbia.
Five Central Maryland ReStores receive donated furniture and building supplies to offer residents lowcost home improvements, help save the environment, and support the mission of homeownership. (Dundalk, Timonium, Columbia, Glen Burnie, and Halethorpe.)
Join us to help transform Baltimore by sponsoring a home, providing financial support, volunteering, donating items to ReStores, offering professional construction services, and so much more.
