Robby Stempler, CEO and founder of Hygea Healthcare, has a deep compassion for those struggling with addiction. Having battled his own addiction, Stempler combined his understanding of the complexities of recovery with his professional background at KIPU, an electronic medical records software startup focused on serving addiction treatment facilities. After opening Malibu Detox in California, Stempler returned to his hometown to create Hygea, which has four locations and is growing. Unique to Hygea is the use of a data-driven approach in partnership with wearable technology from Stempler’s company, Huml Health, that brings advances like biometrics tracking and AI to the customization of treatment. Stempler’s goal is to build an ecosystem in Maryland to provide sustained, high-quality care to those who have the willingness to recover.
