Gilchrist

Founded in 1994, Gilchrist is Maryland’s leading nonprofit provider of geriatric, palliative, and hospice care, serving more than 26,000 individuals each year. From the time of diagnosis through the end of life, we walk alongside patients and families—delivering expert clinical care and heartfelt emotional support wherever it is needed most: private homes, senior living communities, hospitals, and in our four hospice centers across the region.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to help people live every moment to its fullest. Through life-affirming programs, we ensure that patients not only receive the highest quality of care, but also the dignity, peace, and comfort they deserve.

But we cannot do this alone.

As a nonprofit, Gilchrist depends on philanthropy to fill the gap left by insurance. Community support makes it possible for every patient to receive expert care—regardless of their ability to pay. It sustains vital programs that go far beyond medical care, including grief counseling for families, veteran support services, and music therapy. These services bring comfort, healing, and hope during life’s most difficult times.
