JESSICA SALIS HOWE
Photographer
Baltimore born and raised, Jessica Salis Howe has always felt closely tied to the community and its creative energy. Maryland’s mix of talent, culture, and perspective first allowed her to find her footing as a creative. It is here that she discovered her niche at the intersection of branding and photography, where storytelling and visual language meet. She studied visual and graphic communications at Towson University, both on campus and abroad in Italy, with additional focus in photography and art history. These foundations continue to shape how she sees, interprets, and designs.
She began her professional career at a downtown Baltimore architecture firm, where she received formative training under Gary King. His discipline, vision, and respect for craft had a lasting influence on her work and mindset. That experience reinforced a belief she still holds today. She does not design within a single medium. She designs solutions that are thoughtful, flexible, and able to translate across spaces and moments.
What began as freelance work over 25 years ago has grown into a thriving design studio offering full-scale creative support— Salisography. She works across branding, photography, interiors, signage, packaging, merchandise, planning, and décor, allowing every element to work together with clarity and intention. Being a one-woman operation makes her relationships deeply personal. When she works with a business or family, it is long-term. She does not simply execute projects. She becomes part of the team, going to bat for each brand, vision, and goal with care and commitment.
Her work is deeply community driven, with many clients coming through personal recommendations and long-standing relationships. She has a strong focus on small business branding and enjoys supporting local growth. Her days can move from detail driven, strategic corporate branding to the joyful, whimsical, and truly heimish energy of capturing bar and bat mitzvahs and family celebrations. Each requires a different rhythm, but all demand intention, heart, and trust. Moving between these worlds and honoring every level of creativity keeps the work fulfilling and inspires her to create spaces and moments that feel meaningful and personal. At the heart of it all is a genuine love for the work itself and a deep appreciation for the balance between working hard for the art and truly enjoying the process.
