Check Out The Lineup For This Year’s Baltimore Book Festival

Literary festival celebrates its 21st year, and returns to the Inner Harbor in September.

This year, it’s all about animals, storytelling, and Stella getting her groove back.

The Baltimore Book Festival returns to the Inner Harbor this fall from Friday, Sept. 23 through Sunday, Sept. 25, and features a special edition of The Stoop Storytelling Series, as well as bestselling author Terry McMillan, who wrote, you guessed it, How Stella Got Her Groove Back. And if that’s not enough to lure you down, you can pet adoptable fur balls at a special stage focused on animals.

Other presenting writers include Bronwen Dickey, author of Pit Bull: The Battle over an American Icon; hometown favorite D. Watkins (read his recent essay in Baltimore here); NPR correspondent Glen Weldon, who penned The Caped Crusade: Batman and the Rise of Nerd Culture; and Becky Albertalli, author of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.

The festival includes 13 stages and pavilions, and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts will announce more authors as it approaches. But for more details, visit the book festival’s website.
