Jhpiego Scores a Jhcoup

The health agency laughs at itself in this star-studded video.

We love everything about Jhpiego, the nonprofit, Johns Hopkins-affiliated global health service that benefits under-served women and families around the globe, except for its impenetrable name. (It’s actually an acronym that stands for Johns Hopkins Program for International Education in Gynecology and Obstetrics, so you can see why they shortened it.)

Anyway, in this new Funny or Die video, comedians, including Towson University alum Amy Schumer and MICA alum Abbi Jacobson (sporting a mysterious and worrisome bruise on her face—get better soon, Abbi!), attempt to pronounce the name. The video could almost be used in improv training class: See how several comedians make the same word funny, but in different ways! And the best part, the super-funny video is also sneaky good publicity for the important work that Jhpiego does.
