My First Monster: I re-homed most of my early creations, but this first one, a wearable puppet I made while studying at MICA, will always live with me.
Boombox: I’ve been toting this (and all my cassette tapes) around since high school.
Selected Odes Of Pablo Neruda: A well-worn gift from my sister, I return to these poems that celebrate everyday things often.
Locket: This necklace belonged to my mom and supposedly has relics of saints within.
Mola: I’m in awe of this colorful cloth from Panama and the thousands of hand stitches put into its creation.
Balinese Mask: This carved wooden beauty has so much character and energy.
Kit-Cat Clock: His perpetually shifting eyes and wagging tail help to keep me on task.
Vintage Toys: I often rescue small old toys at yard sales and thrift stores—ones I remember from my own childhood and weird ones I never knew existed.
Local Art: I love having art on my walls made by folks I know and admire. These collages by Matt Bovie are some of my favorites.
Spring-Action Scissors: I spend so much time cutting fab- ric, these scissors that spring back open after each cut have been a lifesaver for my hands.
