Sure, it’s Sailing City, the state capital, and home to the Naval Academy, but it’s still got a small-town feel and a cool harbor scene, too.

Median home price: $359,600.

Miles to downtown: 30 to Baltimore, 34 to Washington, D.C.

Bragging rights: You can’t get much more historic than Annapolis, and there are lots of snappy-looking Naval Academy midshipmen walking the
