Firefly Music Festival Announces its Lineup

This summer's Delaware festival features Paul McCartney, Kings of Leon, and The Killers.

[Update, February 25: A press release was just sent out confirming that, indeed, Paul McCartney, is headlining the festival. The singer will be performing as a part of his Out There tour, which features songs spanning his entire career—as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course as a Beatle.]

Last month, a leaked Firefly Music Festival lineup made the rounds on music websites. And, so far, it looks like that leak was pretty accurate.

The official lineup for the festival—a mere two-hour drive from Baltimore—was released this afternoon and, as predicted, Kings of Leon and The Killers were announced as two of the headliners, with a third to “be revealed at a later date.”

That mysterious third headliner, according to the leaks and rumors, is Paul McCartney, but Firefly is not ready to confirm that yet.

Other acts taking the stage at Dover International Speedway from June 18-22 include Morrissey, Bastille, Snoop Dogg, Foster the People, Modest Mouse, Hozier, Kid Cudi, Zedd, and Gary Clark Jr.

This will be full circle for The Killers, who played the inaugural Firefly Festival in 2012 with Jack White and the Black Keys. Since then, the event has grown exponentially with 30,000 attendees that first year to 80,000 last summer.

Additionally, this year, 15 hour of live sets from the festival will be broadcast on AXS TV for the first time.

Firefly’s director Greg Bostrom says, “we’re bringing our best lineup to date” and that a ticket-sale date will be announced soon.
