BELOVED JOSHUA “BJ” SIMONS

BELOVED JOSHUA "BJ" SIMONSBJ has accomplished more in his 15 years than many achieve in a lifetime. When he was 12, he launched Beloved J Public Speaking Firm, LLC, which offers services including editing, video production, coaching, and training services. He is an advocate for youth to find their voices, especially young African-American males, and is a local and international motivational speaker. Much of BJ’s self-esteem was built through his participation in triathlons, a sport he’s participated in from a young age. BJ has a neurological tick disorder and triathlons gave him the confidence to excel in his many passions. When he isn’t coaching other triathletes, working on his business, or writing books, BJ’s schedule is packed with commitments; he is the second vice president of the NAACP Randallstown Youth Council of Baltimore County, co-founder of IABT Junior Multisport Club, and active in the DTD Sports Leadership Academy. He’ll graduate from high school early next year and head to CCBC (where he’s been dual enrolled) to major in engineering.

“[Beloved Joshua] has helped adults to understand that youth are more than a number and they can rise to the occasion of mature executive leaders.” — Dr. Tekemia Dorsey, mother
