After nearly 30 years as a licensed Realtor, sales associate, and broker, Gary Cesta had an epiphany.

The world was changing. New technologies were emerging and entire industries were disappearing, or at least changing to meet the times— except for the real estate industry.

“Consumers have more options at their fingertips today than even Realtors had 30 years ago,” says Cesta. “Why should sellers continue to pay high percentage commissions split between multiple agents and brokerages when they can pay fixed fees for the services they need?”

And so, TheFlatRate.com was born, lowering costs for all parties, and with it, a new and cost-effective way to buy and sell real estate in Baltimore.
