ISABELLA LUGO FRASQUERI
Growing up in a military family has given Isabella a unique perspective. Described as patient and adaptable, she also has the gift to engage with people, something that has come in handy having moved many times and experienced different communities and cultures. Isabella puts her skills to good use through an enviable array of good works. In Havre de Grace, she got permission from the mayor to build and maintain a Little Free Library (LFL) in Tydings Park, the first LFL built by a resident in Harford County. She has also created an extensive campaign to pick up and recycle pop tabs throughout her community. The tabs are destined for Baltimore City’s Ronald McDonald House, which uses funds from the recycled tabs to fuel its shuttle, helping transport families staying at the RMH.
An 11th grader in the Science and Math Academy at Aberdeen High School, Isabella is active in numerous clubs, though her advocacy for military-connected children has brought together her natural leadership skills with her personal experiences. Her tireless efforts led to the creation of a proclamation in Harford County, raising awareness of the unique needs and challenges faced by military connected children. In addition to mentoring kids at a nearby elementary school, Isabella has organized several fundraising events to assist victims of natural disasters and volunteers with local organizations that provide support to underserved communities.
“Isabella has developed problem-solving skills, has a great sense of ethics, and is a born leader.”
