Dr. Kelly Alicia Watson is a psychologist with a concentration in organizational psychology, the study of human interactions between people in the workplace. Her goal is to apply psychological principles and research methods to improve the overall work environment. This may include performance, communication, training and motivation of the workforce, professional development, working with human resources, and improving organizational structure and safety.

Leveraging over two decades of excellence in leadership, in 2021, her dissertation, Principal’s Leadership Style As A Predictor Of School Climate In Urban High Schools In Baltimore, created the Blueprint for Maryland’s future in leadership by achieving academic equity and excellence. In January 2023, Dr. Watson was inducted into the prestigious Marquis Who’s Who as a Top Professional Doctor biographical registry for her expertise as a psychologist specializing in organizational psychology. She is a motivational speaker, child welfare advocate, and executive coach.

“I was always interested in how human behavior and how psychology affect work, how people are affected by work, and teaching the secrets of what makes a great leader,” Dr. Watson says. She is the host of the “Change Lives, Change Perspectives Show,” a podcast that can be found on Spotify that discusses how to modernize leadership on a global level by mastering the art of leading with a purpose. She is also a co-author of Deserts to Mountaintops: Our Collective Journey to (re)Claiming Our Voice Volume II., an anthology of women’s own accounts of survival, tenacity, and resilience.

As an entrepreneur, she offers leadership training, motivational speaking, consultation, and other services to businesses. Her work has led her to realize that ineffective leadership is rampant within organizations. “There are some leaders that misuse their power,”

Dr. Watson explains. “It is critical that leaders understand that titles mean nothing without the ability to influence subordinates and colleagues.” The ultimate goal is teaching leaders how to be transformative, creative, and innovative.

Dr. Kelly Alicia Watson is revolutionizing what leadership should look like in the 21st century worldwide and believes that, “Everything is impossible until it’s done.”
