Women Who Move Maryland 2022

Women are an essential part of the engine that makes our region thrive. In our
annual section that follows, Women Who Move Maryland, we put the spotlight
on the female professionals who play a leading role in Baltimore and beyond.
We are happy to recognize these leaders not only for their own merit, but because
it supports a great cause. A portion of the section’s proceeds will go to the American
Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, which educates women about
the signs and symptoms of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths
each year. Heart disease may present differently in women than men, and it does
not affect all women the same way. The American Heart Association’s Go Red
For Women movement advocates for more research and awareness so
women can understand their risk and access the care they need.
This year, National Wear Red Day takes place on February 4, kicking off the start
of American Heart Month. So let’s turn Baltimore red and raise awareness of the
Go Red for Women Movement. Wear red, snap a picture, and post it on social
media with the hashtag #WearRedMD.
