EMMA WILSON

EMMA WILSONEmma’s natural gift is her voice. She’s been first chair in All County Honors Chorus and was accepted into the Maryland Senior All State Chorus. After auditioning for the vocal music program at George Washington Carver Center for the Arts and Technology, a highly competitive magnet program, she earned one of only 16 spots at the school. Described as a “take charge dynamo,” Emma became president of both the Tri-M Music Honor Society and Science National Honor Society at Carver. In 2022 she represented her school at the Outstanding Young Women Leaders Program at Towson University, where she led her group’s project, the creation of a mental health resources brochure that will be distributed to every Baltimore County high school student. She left that program with the leadership skills that helped her start a peer-to-peer music theory tutoring program at Carver. In addition to logging over 380 volunteer hours at school through the Environmental Club, Artemis Club, UNICEF, and One Love groups, Emma volunteers on her own time at Paul’s Place and Sarah’s Hope, a women’s shelter.

“I think it is fair to say Emma is a volunteer extraordinaire!” —Dr. Nancy Grasmick, nominator
