The Hippodrome Theater and M&T Bank Exchange
7-11 p.m.

Last week, more than 1,000 folks turned out at the Hippodrome Theatre to celebrate the best of Baltimore. Literally. It was Baltimore magazine’s Best of Baltimore party—the annual blowout that honors the city’s finest in a wide range of arenas, from restaurants to services to home goods. Guests roamed several floors—and the Hippodrome’s brand new M&T Bank Exchange—sampling bites from more than 25 local food and drink vendors, getting down to live music, indulging in entertainment like caricature artists and card games, and mingling with many of this year’s winners.

Jules Holdford took the Baltimore theme to heart—as well as head-to-toe—covering herself in apparel and accessories that celebrate the city. The Charm City Food Tours guide wore a dress by artist Room-on-Fire via redbubble.com, Old Bay socks from E.C. Pops, Maryland sneaks from Route One Apparel, Natty Boh earrings by local artist Anita Mickens via Etsy, and stickers by Melyssa Johnston with JellyMellyArt. That tantalizing tiara? She designed it herself, borrowing from artwork she has by Dustin Mollick. With his permission, she had it recreated into a headband by Brittany Herbinko. She even rocked a Baltimore-themed manicure by Teresa McDonald with Enchanted Nails and Spa.
