June 19-21: BLK Swan’s Five-Year Anniversary Weekend

BLK Swan. 1302 Fleet St. Times and prices vary.

This Harbor East restaurant’s big fifth birthday just so happens to overlap with Juneteenth and Father’s Day, so the team is doing it big. Throughout the weekend—as you raise a custom black Solo cup while grooving to classic cookout anthems (Friday), R&B by Grammy winner Rico Love (Saturday), and jazz by Will Spence Band (Sunday)—dig into a special Adult Happy Meal that is being added to the menu for one weekend only. The limited-edition bundle ($22-30) comes with your choice of a smashburger or crispy chicken tenders, plus fries and a glass of La Fête rosé.

June 19: USA vs. Australia at M8 Beer

M8 Beer. 1399 S. Sharp St. 3 p.m. Free admission.

If you’ve been trying to enhance your World Cup experience by catching games at bars that back the teams on the field (La Calle for Mexico matches, The Duchess for England games, etc.) you’re in luck, because Baltimore has its own Australian brewery that’s ready to root for the Land Down Under on Friday. Even better? They’re playing Team USA. So head to M8 in South Baltimore to snag a seat near a screen (or the upstairs projector with sound) and take advantage of $20 pitchers throughout the game.

June 19-21: AFRAM

Druid Hill Park, 900 Druid Park Lake Dr. Fri. 3-9 p.m., Sat. & Sun. 12-9 p.m. Free.

Every summer, hundreds of thousands of Baltimoreans flock to Druid Hill Park for this annual celebration of Black heritage. But this weekend is set to be one for the history books, as AFRAM marks its 50th anniversary. One of the largest events of its kind on the East Coast, the big Baltimore family reunion (as Mayor Brandon Scott calls it) will bring three full days of live music and performances (look out for Baltimore’s own Dru Hill, Mario, DJ Quicksilva, and Black Assets, as well as hip-hop trio The Lox and The Gap Band’s Charlie Wilson), plus local food and drink purveyors, children’s activities, arts and crafts, and more. Before you go, read more about the important history of the fest, here.
