A Budding Business

Harvest Health & Recreation Inc. shares the importance of medical marijuana education.
By Harvest Health & Recreation Inc.

Since day one, Harvest Health & Recreation Inc. has focused on improving lives through medical marijuana education. Everything, from their cultivation efforts and retail stores to the brands they create and carry, are crafted and curated to deliver an unrivaled experience for their customers. To learn more about their specialties, we consulted the team at Harvest Health & Recreation, who shared how they can best serve you at their Harvest of Rockville, Harvest of Towson, and Amedicanna by Harvest locations.

When and how was Harvest Health & Recreation founded?

In 2013, Harvest’s CEO, Steve White, left his law practice to open the first Harvest HOC location in Tempe, Arizona. Steve worked there for several months fulfilling orders, performing reception duties, and consulting with patients. Through those consultations, he quickly learned that he had the ability to help shape a company that gave people control over an aspect of their lives where they previously had very little—their health and wellness. This realization led Steve to instill a culture of education and empowerment at Harvest to provide patients not only with much-needed products, but also resources and support.

Though Harvest has grown larger than Steve ever could have imagined, its mission hasn’t wavered: Harvest endeavors to improve lives through the goodness of medical marijuana. The story has really just begun.

What educational services do you offer?

Harvest hosts monthly seminars to educate patients and customers about medical marijuana and has devoted considerable resources to building relationships with and providing support to local community organizations. Harvest has also donated hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds and resources to local charitable groups, veterans, seniors, and patients in need. Finally, Steve also co-founded Harvesting Hope, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for young children suffering from seizure disorders.

Additionally, we offer free “Ask Dr. Troutt ND” virtual Zoom events, where you can join a discussion with our Medical Director about dispensaries and medical cannabis, including risks and benefits, product types and modes of use, conservative dosing strategies, the body’s endocannabinoid system, and details on your state’s medical cannabis program. You can register here.

How can medical marijuana better the lives of patients?

Physicians can now recommend medical marijuana as an addition or safer alternative to certain pharmaceutical treatments to address side-effect concerns and improve patient conditions. Medical marijuana can provide relief from severe symptoms such as pain, muscle spasms, seizures, nausea, and vomiting.  It can also help enhance one’s mood, sense of wellbeing, and support vital functions such as sleep, appetite, and stress management, resulting in better health and quality of life.

Do you offer any specials?

We offer a 3 Visit New Patient Special. We also offer a 10 percent Wisdom discount, and a 22 percent Veterans discount every day. A loyalty program is also available where patients earn points on what they spend. Points can be redeemed for money back or on products.
