More than Face Value

Meet the practice with something new for the community.
By Maryland Eye & Face

The team at Maryland Eye & Face is committed to their patients and to creating individualized treatments based on their goals by offering cutting-edge techniques for noninvasive and aesthetic surgeries. This team has you covered with services ranging from Baltimore’s first Opus Plasma RF Resurfacing to customizable CO2 laser resurfacing to eyelid and facial surgery and skin-care packages. They are now open and ready to take patients at their easily accessible and new state-of-the-art office in Rosedale. To learn more about their practice, we talked with Dr. Parag Gandhi, MD FACS, and his team at Maryland Eye & Face.

Tell us about your practice.

Oculofacial plastic surgery is a specialty that focuses on conditions related to the eyelids or the delicate bones, ducts, and soft tissue structures around the eyes. We perform facial aesthetic (cosmetic) and corrective surgery of the eyelids, face, tear ducts, and orbit (eye socket). Many patients that need our services have either medical or age-related changes or have suffered the effects of a tumor or injury to any of these structures. At Maryland Eye & Face, we’ve created a small and unique group of professionals who have in-depth familiarity with ophthalmology and oculofacial plastic surgery, from diagnosis, treatment plans, and patient education to handling administrative and billing aspects. Dr. Gandhi is a board-certified surgeon who trained at top institutions in New York City and elsewhere. He completed a prestigious fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery that prepared him for academic, educational, and community medicine roles at the Duke Eye Center in North Carolina. After moving to Maryland, Dr. Gandhi was the oculoplastic surgeon for a private practice in Harford County. His own practice opened in early 2020 and is accepting new patients. Completing his team are Trish Grigoleit and Andi Davis, both of whom bring many years of experience after working together at an ophthalmology practice in the Baltimore area. They’re well-versed in management and patient care and are excited to bring their expertise to Maryland Eye & Face. Combined, Trish, Andi, and Dr. Gandhi have more than 50 years of specialized knowledge to offer their patients, referring providers, and the community.

What sets you apart from other practices?

The personalized patient experience and communication! In addition to our new space and the passion of our team, we are incredibly patient-focused. Our approach is hands-on and informative with the goals to maximize patient satisfaction and outcomes. We are committed to developing long-term relationships with our patients and with referring practices in the community. We are also the first practice in Maryland to offer the Opus Plasma RF resurfacing platform, a first-of-its-kind device that uses fractionated plasma energy to improve aesthetics and rejuvenation of the facial skin. Dr. Gandhi has been working with lasers and light-based devices for many years and is one of the few surgeons in the area to offer laser eyelid surgery. We have many other aesthetics offerings, which we provide in a state-of-the-art facility while following all current COVID safety guidelines. Dr. Gandhi has more than 15 years of experience in facial aesthetics and in managing disorders of the orbit, eyelids, and tear ducts. He enjoys combining scientific principles with artistry in his approach to reconstructive surgical procedures.

How do you plan to create individualized experiences for your patients?

We think about the entire individual, not just their eyes or their face, and we educate at each interaction. From the particulars of one’s medical condition or aesthetic goals to understanding procedures and financial plans, every patient’s needs are different. While we offer primed knowledge and technology to our patients on the medical and surgical side, we also recognize and embrace an area of incredible growth—patients seeking minimally invasive or non-surgical aesthetic corrections in facial areas they wish to improve or enhance. We offer many options on this front. We understand that patients have important life commitments and that their time outside of medical care and healing is very valuable. To this end, we always provide clear instructions on how to maximize healing from any procedure or treatment we undertake. Maryland Eye & Face also offers focused skin-care packages that are customized to support patients’ short and long-term goals for facial skin health and well-being.

Why did you decide to open your new office in Rosedale?

Location! Maryland Eye & Face is centrally located on the ground floor of a medical office complex with plentiful parking. We’re the only full-time practice for oculofacial plastic surgery and facial aesthetics in the immediate area, all the way up to the north end of Maryland and extending into the Eastern Shore. As we offer a variety of medical, aesthetic, and surgical services, we can reach many patients that may need us, as well as those seeking our elective offerings. Rosedale sits geographically at the junction of the I-695 Baltimore beltway and I-95, giving easy access to our office. Importantly, Rosedale and White Marsh are growing medical and business communities, and it is exciting to be in an area that will continue to flourish in the years ahead. We look forward to growing with our surrounding community!
